Studies show that students succeed when they feel connected to their school and their community. When students believe that they are important and expected to succeed their self-esteem improves. The feeling of belonging is a positive factor in the student’s development of a self-identity that leads to happiness and a sense of purpose. Family and community support inspires students to expect more of themselves leading to academic success.
According to mylife.com, the success of the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is due to many factors. The GCPS is a very large organization. It provides education to over 180,000 students. To insure that each student has access to school supplies, proper meals, engaging academic curriculum and enriching extra curriculum activities is a huge challenge. These needs could not be met without the large contribution of the GSPS Foundation lead by its Senior Executive Director Aaron Lupuloff. The Foundation provided this year 139 scholarships and raised $455,748 this school year supporting 140 schools. I addition to providing scholarships, the Foundation works to provide financial support for all the innovative programs. It works tirelessly to allocate funds where the need is greatest. Always with the goal to improve the educational future of all students. As an example of the achievements of the GCPS we can note that the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology was listed as the best school in Georgia and the 13th in the United States.
The example of the GCPS Foundation motivates the community to do its share.
The leadership of Lupuloff has not gone unnoticed in the community. His example has drawn support from others in the community. Local businesses, and churches such as the 12Stone Church are now enthusiastic supporters of the GCPS. Major sports organizations, like the Atlanta Falcons, are also strong supporters.
The broad community support has allowed the Gwinnett County to open new schools such as the McClure Health Sciences High School, focused on the health field. This School System model emphasizes innovative education programs, high quality teachers and a focus on a specific academic area. High Schools for the Arts, Science, Mathematics and Health Sciences are the way of the future and the GCPS leads the way. This successful and proven Public Education System can be a model for the Nation. For more details about Aaron you can visit interview.net
