Dr. Saad Saad is a successful and innovative pediatric surgeon who served in New Jersey for over 40 years. He is one of the professionals who have an inspiring story about their lives. From his beginnings in Palestine to become a top surgeon in the United States, his life journey is an inspiration. The lessons that one can learn by following his story can be life-changing.
Dr. Saad recently retired after serving for 47 years in the medical industry. He may have left, but his legacy as a surgeon who innovated and sacrificed his life for the sake of the well-being of humanity will never be forgotten. In one of his recent interviews, Dr. Saad Saad candidly talked about his life, and there are important lessons to pick.
Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine in the 1940s. At the time, the county and the Middle East region generally was involved in dramatic changes. The creation of the state of Israel had led to the displacement of many Palestine. When Saad, his mother, and his siblings left Palestine, they had nothing apart from the clothes they had on their bodies. They left without their father who only traced them an hour later after a tedious search mission.
In the 1950’s their father moved the family to Kuwait. Dr. Saad spent most of his childhood in Kuwait. While in Kuwait, his father kept on rewarding him about their situation in a foreign land. They lived here as refugees, and no one cared about their future. The only tool that would rescue the family from the challenges they were facing was acquiring higher education.
He attributes his decision to become a surgeon to the experience he once had when he accompanied his brother to a construction site. The heat was sweltering, and the conditions were unbearable for him. He looked at the people who had to work under such conditions and made up his mind that he would like to spend his career in a profession that would allow him to sit in air-conditioned offices. As he grew up, he realized that the only place that he would find air conditioners was in the hospital’s operating room.
One key lesson to pick from this experience is that you can be anything you want to be. He decided to become a surgeon just because he was not comfortable working in hot environments. He went into the medical industry and became a successful pediatric surgeon.
From the day he made up his mind on the career he would like to pursue, he never relented, he focused all efforts towards becoming a pediatric surgeon, and at the end, it paid off. He managed to move his life from that of a refugee in a hostile environment to top medical professional in the First World. Learn more : https://about.me/ssaad/getstarted
